Ihre au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich sch\u00f6ne Zeichnung ist nur ein Grund, warum sie so beliebt ist. Die Grundfarbe ist dunkelbraun bis schwarz und mit gelb bis beigebraunen ovalen Flecken \u00fcberdeckt. Der Bauch ist hell, hellbraun bis wei\u00dflich. So ergibt sich ein wundersch\u00f6nes Muster. Durch Z\u00fcchtung gibt es auch Albinos, Ghost \u2013 mit einer sehr hellen Zeichnung, verschiedene Farben und Zeichnungen. Am Kopf ist ein heller breiter Augenstreifen, der sich von der Nasen\u00f6ffnung bis zum Hinterkopf zieht. Der K\u00f6rper ist <strong>kr\u00e4ftig<\/strong>, wobei der breite Kopf deutlich abgesetzt ist. Schaut man den Kopf von oben an, sind auf der breiten, runden Schnauze die Nasenl\u00f6cher gut erkennbar. Seitlich sitzen Gruben, das sind die sogenannten Sinnesgruben. Die <strong>Sinnesgruben<\/strong> funktionieren wie eine W\u00e4rmebildkamera, so entgeht der K\u00f6nigspython nichts. K\u00f6nigspythons werden <strong>20-30 Jahre<\/strong> alt, nicht selten erreichen Weibchen auch ein Alter von <strong>40 Jahren<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"wie-erkenne-ich-das-geschlecht\">Wie erkenne ich das Geschlecht?<\/h3>\n<p>Bei ausgewachsenen Tieren kann es erkannt werden. <strong>Weibchen sind l\u00e4nger und schwerer<\/strong>. Au\u00dferdem haben sie einen gr\u00f6\u00dferen Kopf. Auch an den Afterspornen, da diese M\u00e4nnchen meist l\u00e4nger sind. Diese Merkmale sind aber nicht ausreichend f\u00fcr eine genaue Bestimmung. Eine genaue Bestimmung ist nur \u00fcber eine Sonde oder \u00fcber Evertieren m\u00f6glich. Diese Geschlechtsbestimmung muss aber von Profis durchgef\u00fchrt werden, um das Tier dabei nicht zu verletzen.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"herkunft-und-geschichte\">Herkunft und Geschichte<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"woher-stammt-die-koenigspython\">Woher stammt die K\u00f6nigspython?<\/h3>\n<p>Verbreitet ist sie \u00fcber weite Teile von <strong>West- und Zentralafrika<\/strong> und von <strong>Gambia<\/strong> bis in den <strong>Sudan<\/strong>. K\u00f6nigspythons sind sehr anpassungsf\u00e4hig, sie besiedeln nicht nur tropische Gebiete, wie W\u00e4lder, sondern auch Savannen. Da sie d\u00e4mmerungs- und nachtaktiv ist, bevorzugt sie nat\u00fcrlich auch, abends gef\u00fcttert zu werden. W\u00fcrgeschlangen, wie das Wort schon verr\u00e4t, erw\u00fcrgen die Beute, sie umwickeln das Futtertier und dr\u00fccken immer weiter zu bis die Beute tot ist. In der Terrarienhaltung wirst du M\u00e4use, Ratten und K\u00fcken verf\u00fcttern. Diese kannst du tiefgefroren kaufen, vor der F\u00fctterung auftauen lassen und so auf K\u00f6rpertemperatur bringen. <strong>Tipp<\/strong>: Um meine Futtertiere auf K\u00f6rpertemperatur zu bekommen, nutze ich zwei Schalen, in der ersten Schale ist warmes Wasser, die zweite Schale stelle ich in dieses Wasser und gebe hier die aufgetaute Maus hinein, sodann abdecken und in ein paar Minuten ist die Temperatur bei 35-40 Grad, perfekt!<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"wie-wird-eine-koenigspython-gehalten\">Wie wird eine K\u00f6nigspython gehalten?<\/h3>\n<p>Die gesetzliche Mindestgr\u00f6\u00dfe f\u00fcr 1 Tier l\u00e4sst sich berechnen: <strong>x1 L\u00e4nge x0,5 Tiefe x0,75 H\u00f6he<\/strong> der L\u00e4nge der Schlange. Also bei einem durchschnittlichen 120 cm langem Tier betr\u00e4gt die Gr\u00f6\u00dfe: 120x60x90. Gr\u00f6\u00dfer ist aber immer besser. K\u00f6nigspythons k\u00f6nnen einzeln, als Paar oder in der Gruppe als Harem gehalten werden. Bei mehreren Tieren muss die Gr\u00f6\u00dfe nat\u00fcrlich angepasst werden. Da sich der Python am Tag gerne versteckt, sollte es <strong>mehrere Verstecke<\/strong>, wie H\u00f6hlen und Wurzeln, geben. Eine <strong>Wetbox<\/strong>, mit feuchtem Substrat, darf auch nicht fehlen. Besonders Jungtiere lieben es zu klettern, hier eignen sich Plateaus und \u00c4ste besonders gut. Als <a href=\"\/terraristik\/terrarium-einrichtung\/terrarium-bodengrund\/\">Bodengrund<\/a> kann Erde, Kokosfaser oder Rinde, wie zum Beispiel Pinie, verwendet werden. Pflanzen und Moos ist kein Muss, aber bringen nur Vorteile mit sich. Eine gro\u00dfe Bade-\/Wasserschale muss ebenfalls vorhanden sein. Die <strong>Umgebungstemperatur<\/strong> sollte bei 26-30\u00b0C liegen. Am <strong>Sonnenplatz<\/strong> 35\u00b0C und an k\u00fchlen Stellen 20-22\u00b0C. In der Nacht sollte die Temperatur im Sommer bei 23-24\u00b0C und im Winter bei 20-22\u00b0C liegen. Im Winter sind in der Natur Trockenzeiten, die im Terrarium mit mehr Nachtabsenkung und weniger Luftfeuchtigkeit imitiert werden. Das f\u00f6rdert die Gesundheit und der Paarungsbereitschaft. <strong>Die Luftfeuchtigkeit<\/strong> im Sommer ist ideal bei 60-90%, daf\u00fcr reicht es meist aus, alle 2 Tage per Hand oder Regenanlage einzuspr\u00fchen. Weibchen sind mit 3 Jahren und M\u00e4nnchen mit 2 Jahren geschlechtsreif. Bei K\u00f6nigspythons spielt auch das Gewicht eine Rolle, die Tiere sollten erst <strong>ab einem Gewicht von 1500 g<\/strong> verpaart werden. Der Paarungsakt kann Stunden, aber auch Tage dauern. Danach kann das M\u00e4nnchen entfernt werden. Das Weibchen speichert den Samen, 2-3 Wochen nach dem Eisprung h\u00e4utet sich das Tier und dann dauert es 30 - 45 Tage bis zur Eiablage. Die Ablage erfolgt an einem gesch\u00fctzten und feuchten Versteck. Die Umgebungstemperatur soll hier 30\u00b0C betragen. <strong>3 - 6 Eier<\/strong> sind der Durchschnitt, erfahrene Weibchen legen <strong>bis zu 15 Eier<\/strong> ab. Nun umwickelt das Weibchen die Eier und imitiert dabei einen Brutkasten. Nach ca. 60 Tagen schl\u00fcpfen die Schlangenbabys mit einer L\u00e4nge von etwa 40 cm und einem Gewicht von rund 55 g.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"wie-aufwendig-ist-die-pflege-von-einer-koenigspython\">Wie aufwendig ist die Pflege von einer K\u00f6nigspython?<\/h3>\n<p>Der <a href=\"\/magazin\/terraristik\/pflege-terraristik\/hygiene-im-terrarium\/\">Pflegeaufwand<\/a> ist <strong>sehr gering<\/strong>. T\u00e4glicher Wasserwechsel der Badeschale. Alle zwei Tage einspr\u00fchen und dabei Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen. Kot und Urin entfernen. Bei Bedarf Scheiben und Einrichtung reinigen. Der Bodengrund soll einmal im Jahr komplett ausgetauscht werden. Deshalb tr\u00e4gt sie den Spitznamen <strong>Ball-Python<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In Westafrika wird sie in bestimmten Kulturkreisen verehrt. K\u00f6nigspythons stehen unter <strong>Artenschutz<\/strong>, sie sind zwar nicht meldepflichtig, du ben\u00f6tigst aber vom Z\u00fcchter einen Herkunftsnachweis.<\/li>\n<li>Schlangen sind <strong>thigmotaktisch<\/strong>, das bedeutet K\u00f6rperkontakt gibt ihnen Sicherheit, deshalb f\u00fchlen sie sich in H\u00f6hlen sehr wohl.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Die K\u00f6nigspython, eine ungiftige Riesenschlange mit freundlicher Art und wundersch\u00f6nem Aussehen, \u00fcberzeugt Anf\u00e4nger und Profis in gleichem Ma\u00df.
